About the Role

Fane is a leading producer and curator of spoken word events, bringing exciting names in culture and entertainment to audiences worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled Book Operations Manager to drive all book-related activities within the company forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date computerized administration for all book sales across the Fane Group for consumer and corporate events.
  • Liaise with sales departments at multiple publishers on terms, delivery, and logistics to ensure seamless book distribution.
  • Collaborate with the Live team and publishers to negotiate terms for live events and bookselling at live events.
  • Work with external promoters on live tours and events as an external bookselling partner.
  • Ensure that all stock is signed and delivered safely to the Fane warehouse for distribution purposes.
  • Manage the curation of books sold via all e-commerce platforms, working closely with the Marketing department to promote book sales alongside live tours and one-off shows.
  • Analyze with the marketing department how to best promote book sales and optimize e-commerce platform performance.
  • Keep Fane's e-commerce platform updated to ensure the company uses signed stock effectively.
  • Book and manage freelancers for live bookselling opportunities across the Fane Live programme.
  • Attend events to oversee the running of book distribution and bookselling at live events.
  • Liaise with venues to organize the distribution of books for live events.
  • Work closely with the Customer Service team on all customer queries regarding books at live events.
  • Oversee and manage the Book Distribution Coordinator to distribute all books purchased through the Fane Online programme and through the LoveMyRead platform.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ownership mentality and strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
  • Experience of management and accuracy with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to short deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills and a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Dynamic with a hands-on, can-do attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to all kinds of situations.
  • A high level of professional integrity, honesty, reliability, and hard work.
