Job Opportunity: Lecturer in AI for Weather Forecasting

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Reading is seeking an exceptional Lecturer in AI for Weather Forecasting to join our team. As a leading institution in computer science and environmental science, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-quality research in AI and computational science, with a strong focus on weather forecasting.
  • Teach and develop curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate students in computer science.
  • Contribute to the development of the department's research strategy and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and student support.
  • Develop and lead research projects, with a focus on AI and environmental science.

Requirements:

  • PhD in computer science or a related field, with a strong reputation for international research in AI and computational science.
  • Well-developed knowledge of computer science fundamentals, suitable for teaching across the curriculum.
  • Excellent research publications in AI and computational science, with international standing.
  • Strong commitment to student support and the enhancement of the learning experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of colleagues.

Selection Process:

Applications will be shortlisted, followed by a short telephone interview to confirm key facts and provide candidates with more details about the package offered. Those who progress will then be invited to a formal Panel interview, chaired by the Head of School.
