We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Osa Specialist Recruitment. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement nutritious and well-balanced menus using fresh, seasonal produce within budget constraints.
- Consult with residents and clinical staff to ensure dietary requirements are met and menus are tailored to individual needs.
- Review and update menus quarterly to reflect seasonal changes and resident feedback.
- Prepare, cook, and present meals attractively, with a focus on home-cooked meals and minimal use of convenience foods.
- Ensure modified meals and snacks are provided in line with operational procedures.
- Provide a breakfast service to residents and serve meals in dining rooms at lunch and supper times.
- Engage with residents daily, taking feedback and making necessary changes to improve the dining experience.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and monitor areas to ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations.
- Manage kitchen stock levels, order supplies, and rotate stock to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Report equipment defects and withdraw from use immediately to ensure food safety.
- Attend resident meetings and events to facilitate a quality service and gather feedback.
- Support the compliance team to ensure staff have up-to-date legislative and mandatory training.
- Complete and maintain health and safety, food hygiene, and HACCP checks to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Level 2 or equivalent in catering
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
- Level 2 Health and Safety
- Infection Control training
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
- Preparation and presentation of modified diets
- Awareness of wider COSHH legislation
- Awareness of wider Food Hygiene legislation
- Allergies and Intolerances
