Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Manpower UK Ltd, you will be responsible for managing complex products from quotation to launch. This will involve project managing multiple suppliers of tooling and capital to ensure timing and cost targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Launch new products and processes into the business, ensuring time and cost targets are met
  • Develop comprehensive timing plans in line with customer milestones
  • Generate PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating instructions to support pre-production and production processes
  • Design, develop, specify, and source key manufacturing equipment
  • Ensure products, processes, and materials are safe, and complete health and safety documents as required
  • Support product design in the development of components, ensuring best-in-class design for manufacture
  • Produce workbooks to generate accurate cost estimates to support commercial activities
  • Manage equipment installation and contractors

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
  • Knowledge of headliner manufacturing and assembly
  • Exposure to manufacturing lines highly reliant on IT systems
  • Significant experience in a relevant role within a 1st tier automotive supplier, preferably in a just-in-time environment
  • Experience of Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing processes
