Pallet Network Transport Planner Position Overview

Bennett and Game Recruitment is working alongside a well-established company offering quality service and solutions in palletised freight and distribution services. The client is seeking a Transport Planner with Pallet Network experience for their site in Barnsley.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan local daily collections, deliveries, and night trunking for pallet network vehicles, including hazardous goods ADR shipments using Mandata Traffic Management System.
  • Manage 11 local daily vehicles and 4-night trunks (Monday to Friday).
  • Upload and download job links to and from pallet networks and Mandata TMS.
  • Create manifests and routing labels.
  • Liaise with dispatch warehouse supervisors on loads.
  • Ensure vehicles operate efficiently while complying with delivery requirements.
  • Liaise with customers via email and telephone to attend to special requirements.
  • Book in consignments.
  • Follow up on deliveries using vehicle tracking software, checking ETA's.
  • Ensure vehicles are not overloaded.
  • Ensure compliance with CDG requirements and segregation rules.
  • Resolve problems on deliveries, such as damages, late arrival, and driver issues.
  • Resolve staffing issues, e.g., driver no-show.
  • Assist in breakdown situations and re-schedule loads as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Proven transport planning experience.
  • Experience of pallet networks is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
Remuneration:

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000+ (dependent on experience).

Working days: Monday to Friday, rotating pattern.

AM pattern: 6:00 AM - 1:30 PM.

PM pattern: 12:30 PM - 8:00 PM.

Pension.
