About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Assistant to join our team at Essex County Council. As a key member of our Adult Social Care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in our residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred care and support to individuals, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement care plans.
  • Support individuals with personal care, medication, meal preparation, and laundry, ensuring their dignity and privacy are respected.
  • Encourage individuals to participate in social and leisure activities, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor and report any concerns or issues related to an individual's emotional and general wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent, with a willingness to achieve the award within 24 months of starting the role.
  • Experience working in a social care setting, with a strong understanding of person-centred approaches and the importance of dignity and respect.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.
