Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security and Infrastructure Expert to join our team at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our digital systems and infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities
  • Drive common approaches to our enterprise architecture, ensuring alignment with our strategic business objectives.
  • Take the lead in implementing and maintaining enterprise architecture technologies and solutions, working closely with external suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Implement, maintain, and integrate our corporate WAN, LAN, and server architecture, ensuring the security and integrity of our network.
  • Investigate complex technical issues and provide expert advice and assistance as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, providing strategic guidance to inform our business planning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver day-to-day digital services and support the implementation of our digital strategy.
  • Support all Infrastructure systems, including participation in an out-of-hours rota.
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science or Systems Development, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Professional network IT qualifications, such as CCNA/CCNP or equivalent.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to produce and present formal proposals.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection and information security/governance issues.
  • Experience in specifying, configuring, and managing servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Experience in mitigating security vulnerabilities using various methods.
  • Evidence of working closely with suppliers, other NHS organizations, and non-IM&T staff to deliver mission-critical projects.
  • Evidence of network and security continuity planning and testing.
  • Detailed knowledge of Router, Firewall, Proxy Server, Active Directory, and other Microsoft BackOffice applications.
  • Experience with Ambulance networks, applications, and operational requirements.
