About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Apprenticeship Tutor for Early Years and Teaching Assistants. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, mentoring, and supporting apprentices in the Early Years Education sector from level 2 to level 5 and the Teaching Assistant role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment:
    • Conduct skills reviews with apprentices and employers to identify gaps and develop individualized training plans.
    • Maintain candidate records and perform workplace observations to ensure high-quality training and assessment.
    • Deliver training and assessment that meets awarding body standards and provides feedback via the ePortfolio system.
  • Training:
    • Create tailored action plans for candidates and deliver workplace training covering Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours.
    • Support English and Maths training, ensuring successful completion in collaboration with FS specialists.
    • Provide tutorial support on Prevent, British Values, Personal Development, Behaviour, Welfare, Safeguarding, and additional learning needs.
    • Conduct remote webinars for apprentices and train on British Values, Prevent, mental health, well-being, career guidance, and safety topics.
  • Coordination and Support:
    • Monitor candidate progress and support portfolio completion and assessments, setting timely completion targets.
    • Record and report on Additional Learning Support (ALS) and provide apprenticeship program information to employers and employees.
    • Collaborate with line managers for reviews and appraisals and supply data on programs and learners, contributing to self-assessment monitoring.
    • Manage the start-up pack and evidence base for apprentices and attend CPD, Standardization events, and company conferences.
    • Support apprentices and employers in the End Point Assessment process.
  • Administration:
    • Complete documentation for signing up new candidates and tracking their progress.
    • Maintain records of candidate progress against targets and document employer visits, candidate reviews, assessment visits, and other appointments.
    • Ensure timely student achievement and complete necessary Gateway and End Point Assessment documentation.
    About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who shares our values of student-centredness, equality of opportunity, and parity of esteem for staff and students. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the Early Years and Teaching Assistant sectors and be able to develop strong professional relationships with employers and learners.

The following criteria are used to shortlist applicants and assess candidates:

  • Hold a qualification or have experience in the subject area.
  • Have up-to-date industry knowledge.
  • Hold Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualifications.
  • Have experience of working with employers in a training or customer relations role.
  • Able to develop strong professional relationships with employers and learners.
  • Have strong IT skills and be willing to work with e-portfolio's.
  • Can motivate learners and ensure they complete on time.
  • Hold a full driving licence, have own vehicle and be willing to travel to customer sites.
  • Have high levels of motivation and the ability to use own initiative.
