About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controller to join our Portfolio Office at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). As a Project Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Control
    • Work closely with Project Managers to estimate, plan, and control projects.
    • Provide proactive support to Project Managers on project planning, scheduling, critical path analysis, estimation, tracking, status reporting, risk, and configuration management.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and deliver training programs to Project Managers and other staff members on specialist knowledge areas.
  • Progress Updates and Risk Management
    • Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders, highlighting risks and opportunities, and key variances.
    • Advise on recovery options if project delivery performance is not meeting targets.
  • Project Reviews and Recommendations
    • Conduct reviews of projects to determine readiness for the next stage.
    • Recommend actions to improve project progress.
  • Exemplar Project Management
    • Provide specialist knowledge and skills to ensure NPL is recognized as a leader in project management.
