Job Title: German Translator

We are seeking a highly skilled German Translator to join our team at PTW, a leading global services company that collaborates with video game developers and publishers through outsourced production services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating video game content from English to German, ensuring maximum linguist quality and adherence to all relevant conventions. As a key member of our language team, you will work closely with other specialists to produce high-quality translations, either by translating yourself or reviewing documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create or help create glossaries and style guides following pre-defined guidelines from clients.
  • Carry out translation work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
  • Work as part of a larger team of translators or revisers.
  • Provide linguistic feedback for work carried out externally.
  • Meet outlined deadlines and industry-standard productivity figures.
  • Be responsive in email and chat communications, ensuring clarity in all messages sent.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Native-level fluency in German and English, particularly reading & writing.
  • Strong understanding of the German culture.
  • Experience within the translation industry or working professionally as a Translator.
  • Excellent knowledge of business software applications (Microsoft Office, memoQ, Plunet).
  • Proactive communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Good organisation and problem-solving skills.
