Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Technical Author to join our team in Bristol. As a Technical Author, you will be responsible for creating and updating technical documentation for our defence and space organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Author and Update Technical Documentation: Create and update technical manuals, guides, and other documentation to international specifications.
  2. Liaise with Customers and Suppliers: Collaborate with internal and external customers and suppliers to resolve day-to-day problems and complex issues.
  3. Provide Information and Support: Provide information and support to customers through reactive support queries and in-service issues.
  4. Analyse and Identify Customer Needs: Analyse vendor data, in-service reports, and other source data to identify customer needs and provide relevant data to meet customer maintenance and operational needs.
  5. Communicate Effectively: Ensure that all information is communicated in line with policies, processes, and procedures.
  6. Work with Others: Collaborate with others to ensure effective service to customers.
  7. Refer Complex Issues: Refer complex or airworthiness issues and queries to the correct areas.
  8. Plan and Prioritise Tasks: Plan and prioritise tasks to meet customer needs.
  9. Provide Feedback and Support: Provide feedback on customer needs and support key strategic projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  1. Previous Experience: Previous experience of authoring, verification, and validation in technical data manuals specifically IPC.
  2. Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance: Good knowledge of aircraft maintenance, repair, and production processes and procedures.
  3. Project Management: Project management capability and willingness to get involved.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
  5. Computer Literacy: Computer literate.
Desirable Skills
  1. Experience of Tech Request Tool: Experience of Tech Request tool desirable.
