Job Title: Consultant Acute Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Acute Medicine to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a Consultant Acute Medicine, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our acute medicine services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Acute Medicine to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in acute medicine, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care pathways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in acute medicine
  • Develop and implement effective care pathways
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Contribute to the development of our acute medicine services
  • Participate in clinical audit and research activities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • On GMC Specialist Register for specialty / Specialty Registrar with CCT / CESR(CP) due within six months of interview date
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Experience in acute general medicine and sub-specialty experience
  • Counselling and communication skills
  • Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
  • Active research interests
  • Evidence of ability to work both in a team and alone
  • Evidence of teaching medical students and junior doctors
