About the Role

As an Equity Finance Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the financing strategies for our European equity portfolio. You'll be responsible for managing the daily locate process, identifying and executing refinancing opportunities, and providing valuable market insights to our Portfolio Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sophisticated financing strategies to enhance the profitability of our European equity book.
  • Oversee the daily locate process, ensuring efficient borrowing and lending activities within the market.
  • Proactively identify and capitalize on refinancing opportunities to minimize financing costs and maximize returns.
  • Provide in-depth market analysis and insights to Portfolio Managers, supporting their investment decisions.
  • Analyze revenue and exception reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement in our financing operations.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with prime financing and equity brokers, leveraging these connections to secure favorable terms and optimize execution.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including Portfolio Management, Trading, and Technology, to ensure seamless integration of financing strategies across the firm.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative technology solutions and process enhancements within the equity finance function.
  • Generate creative trade ideas in equity finance, exploring new avenues for generating alpha and enhancing portfolio performance.
  • Provide support to our US and Asia desks, sharing expertise and contributing to a global network of excellence in equity finance.
  • Actively participate in firm-wide initiatives, driving strategic growth and innovation within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in equity finance or delta one trading.
  • A demonstrated passion for continuous improvement in product development, technology, and profitability.
  • A proven track record of building and maintaining strong market relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple asset classes and their interrelationships.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with coding languages is highly advantageous.
