We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Healthcare Records Assistant at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Filing and retrieving healthcare records on a daily basis, adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
- Assisting in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of healthcare records while transferring between departments.
- Ensuring incoming and outgoing mail is properly sorted and dispatched.
- Liaising with professional and administrative staff within the Trust on healthcare records-related matters.
- Receiving and responding to telephone calls and inquiries regarding healthcare records.
- Providing administrative support in response to subject access requests and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Collaborating with the Records Manager to gather information for clinical and administrative processes.
- Monitoring stationery supplies and reordering as necessary.
- Providing assistance to colleagues to ensure the efficient operation of the healthcare records department.
- Good standard of education, minimum 3 GCSEs or equivalent.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of health records and systems.
- Organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of data protection regulations.
- Ability to work under own initiative and experience of dealing with patients and relatives.
- Flexible and able to work in a team environment.
- Full driving license.
- Knowledge of mental health records and minimum of two years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience of subject access requests.
