As a Duty Manager, you will report directly to the Store Manager and play a crucial role in driving the success of our SPAR store. As part of the 'Duty Manager' team, you will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence during all store hours, supporting the Store Manager in leading and inspiring a team of staff members. Your leadership will be pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service and achieving store sales and profitability through our core principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-performing store, taking charge of store operations during Duty Manager shifts.
  • Support the Store Manager in achieving operational goals and key performance indicators.
  • Manage, mentor, and empower team members, fostering a positive and engaging work environment.
  • Oversee performance and attendance management as necessary.
  • Occasionally open and close the store, ensuring colleague safety and managing stock and cash security during shifts.
  • Conduct cash reconciliations, handle voids and refunds, and perform other management tasks as required.
  • Lead by example, guiding the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences that distinguish us from competitors.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote the store and engage with the local community.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and operational processes.

Required Skills:

  • Prior management or supervisory experience in food retail or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Dedication to achieving and maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication and influencing abilities at all levels.
