Job Title: Building Fabric Maintenance Specialist

Location: Cheltenham

Salary: £34,627.78 per annum (Inclusive of on call)

Benefits: Company Vehicle, company pension scheme, BUPA (single cover), 33 days holiday (including bank holidays). Overtime available at time and a half. Technicians are paid DOOR to DOOR.

Hours: 45 hours a week – Monday to Friday

On call requirement: 1 week in 4

We are advertising this Building Fabric Maintenance Specialist role on behalf of our client 'City Facilities Management'. City were established in 1985 and the company has grown to become one of the world's largest privately held, integrated FM companies.

Job Purpose:

The Building Fabric Maintenance Specialist is a multi-site role offering building fabric maintenance services across a range of disciplines aimed at keeping services and costs in-house.

The work includes a mix of PPM and reactive building fabric works internally and externally to include:

  • Roof - repair roof leaks, gutter and gully repairs and replacement
  • Brickwork – repairs to walls
  • Floor – repair and replacement of vinyl and ceramic tiles
  • Car Park / yard works
Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend training courses as and when necessary, by the company.
  • Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual's technical competence in accordance with current specifications agreed with M& S.
  • Complete all necessary PPM's and reactive maintenance schedules within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and as required.
  • Carry out all tasks in accordance with specific KPI's.
  • Responding promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as necessary.
  • Monitor and update the Mercury system including live job updates.
  • Prioritising and completing minor maintenance and repair work to agreed timescales.
  • Ability to maintain/repair a range of building fabrics and ground works, to recognised standards whilst working with minimum supervision.
  • To liaise with project teams on store alterations, modernisations, and other relevant works.
  • To identify non-repairable issues and promptly advise the AMM of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable alternatives.
  • Support other City technicians/teams with any major or minor maintenance work.
  • Comply with the company policies and procedures.
  • Complying with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  • Complete all mandatory online training and Evolve modules.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and client colleagues.
  • Work with company and client colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that all costs are approved.
Candidates Background & Experience:
  • Education to GCSE / Standard Grade level as a minimum.
  • Level 2 NVQ General Building Operations or similar is essential.
  • A valid CSCS is essential.
  • Level 2 Diploma in Construction Skills Bench Joinery, or a Level 2 Extended Diploma in Site Carpentry is desirable.
  • Level 2 NVQ in Painting and Decorating is desirable.
  • Speed and efficiency of work.
  • Problem Solving.
  • Good PC Skills – i Pad.
  • Full/clean UK driving license.
