Job Title: Metal Fabrication Technician

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Technician to join our team at i2i Recruitment Consultancy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fabricating sheet metal products accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret Technical Drawings: Interpret technical drawings and instructions to fabricate sheet metal products accurately.
  • Operate Fabricating Machines: Set up and operate fabricating machines and hand tools for cutting, bending, and straightening metal materials.
  • Shape Metal: Shape sheet metal over anvils, blocks, or custom forms to achieve precise dimensions and smooth finishes.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training new or less experienced team members as needed.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Audits and Process Improvement: Participate in external audits and engage in internal audits and process improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency with Fabricating Machines: Proficiency with shrinkers, stretchers, straighteners, English wheels, and rollers for part profile creation.
  • Understanding of Metal Behaviour: Strong understanding of metal behaviour during forming processes.
  • Experience with Titanium, Steel, and Aluminium: Experience working with titanium, steel, and aluminium.
  • Panel Beating Skills: Panel beating skills.
  • Reading and Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Familiarity with First-Off Inspection Procedures: Familiarity with first-off inspection procedures.
