Job Description

Optimum Recruit is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client's team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in the heavy engineering sector, with a strong understanding of rotating equipment and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on rotating equipment, including turbines, pumps, gearboxes, and valves.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnosis of mechanical equipment, identifying and resolving issues without explicit direction.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and customers on a technical level, both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage work schedules and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Assist and lead planned projects and outages as directed by peers.
Requirements:
  • Full driving license, preferably clean.
  • Self-motivated and able to work individually, with a flexible and positive outlook.
  • Good customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning experience.
  • Relevant knowledge, training, and experience within heavy engineering sectors.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of physical fitness due to the demands of the job. Flexibility to work away from home when needed and availability for call-out 1-5.
