Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client's team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have experience in the heavy engineering sector, with a strong understanding of rotating equipment and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on rotating equipment, including turbines, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnosis of mechanical equipment, identifying and resolving issues without explicit direction.
  • Work alone to identify and resolve faults and concerns on mechanical systems, with the ability to communicate technical information to peers and customers.
  • Assist and lead planned projects and outages as directed by peers, effectively managing work schedules and ensuring installations meet manufacturer standards and legislation requirements.
Requirements:
  • A full driving license, preferably clean.
  • Self-motivation to work individually, with the ability to adapt to working as part of a team.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning experience.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • A good level of fitness due to the physical demands of the job.
  • Ability to pass security clearances.
  • Flexibility to work away from home when needed.
