Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Hiscox team as an Accounting Policy Manager, where you will play a key role in shaping the future of the company's finance function.
About the Role:
As an Accounting Policy Manager, you will be responsible for servicing the Group's accounting and regulatory policy requirements, forming close working relationships with the wider Group Finance team, as well as the Finance stakeholders across the Hiscox business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of group-wide accounting policies, communication of these and the maintenance of the Group Accounting Manual.
- Provide technical accounting support to business unit finance teams.
- Provide advice to the business and other functions, such as Risk, Treasury and Tax, on accounting and regulatory policy matters.
- Evaluate new IFRS and regulatory reporting requirements and oversee their implementation.
- Support the production of Board and Audit Committee papers to support the business and advise on accounting and regulatory developments.
- Engage effectively with the auditors on accounting issues and audit matters.
- Work with the Head of Group Accounting and Regulatory Policy to inform and advise the firm's Finance community on emerging accounting and regulatory developments and lead the finance technical training agenda.
- Support the technical review of the Group's financial statements prior to issuance to ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant + 2yrs (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
- Good technical and financial reporting knowledge within the financial services sector (preferably the insurance sector).
- Reports to the Head of Group Accounting and Regulatory Policy.
- Maintain constructive and supportive professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including Business Unit finance teams, and external auditors.
