Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at Esland Care. As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable young people aged 8-18 years with SEMH.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality teaching and support to students with SEMH needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans to meet the needs of students
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff to ensure effective deployment of resources
  • Contribute to the educational and social development of each young person
  • Ensure that young people's views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriate
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Degree qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrable achievements in excellence as a teacher
  • Primary and secondary teachers are welcome to apply
  • Experience of assessment without levels including tracking pupil progress
  • Knowledge and understanding of statutory assessment arrangements at the various key stages
  • Knowledge and understanding of effective strategies to manage the behaviour of pupils
  • Excellent knowledge of inclusion and equality, including SEMH, EAL, bilingual learners, ethnic minority, gender etc.
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding especially the safety and welfare of vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils
  • Expert knowledge of strategies for closing the gap
  • The ability and willingness to teach a range of subjects
  • Contribution to the educational and social development of each young person
  • The ability to form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies
Desirable Qualifications
  • Ability to teach across all key stages
  • Degree/qualification in psychology
  • Higher degree or equivalent
