Position Overview
As a key member of the Halton Band 6 team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care. Your role will encompass direct oversight of your team, including performance reviews, scheduling, and the assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of elective perioperative care initiatives. You should exhibit a high level of clinical proficiency, ideally possess Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or be willing to pursue it, and have a strong commitment to education and mentorship, as we are a teaching institution.

You may also be required to work at Warrington Hospital as service demands dictate, where, in addition to our Surgical Specialties, we provide support for pediatric surgeries and patients needing enhanced clinical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and across various disciplines and organizational levels. The Surgical Services Coordinator acts as the central point of coordination among the surgeon, anaesthetist, anaesthetic support practitioner, and the scrub team within the operating room.

Job Duties
- Employ a variety of verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to effectively engage with patients undergoing treatment, including those with communication challenges.
- Provide leadership through personal example, promoting effective departmental communication and fostering strong interpersonal relationships. Support the development of trust, integrity, and collaboration among multidisciplinary team members.
- Utilize specialized knowledge in operating department practices, supported by theoretical understanding and relevant practical experience.
- Attend meetings and educational sessions, demonstrating a commitment to clinical audit and personal professional development by expanding your knowledge base. Participate in the Performance Development Review (PDR) process.
- As a qualified professional in a leadership capacity, you will be expected to make informed decisions based on a range of facts or situations, requiring analysis and comparison of various options.
- Apply highly developed physical skills that necessitate precision, speed, and exceptional hand-eye coordination.
- Contribute innovative ideas to promote best practices and assist in research initiatives.
- Provide specialized clinical technical services in support of the anaesthetist and surgeon as needed.
- Plan, implement, and revise care standards, monitoring and evaluating their effectiveness.
