Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide expert care to patients requiring anticoagulation and thrombosis management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage patients on warfarin and other vitamin K antagonists, including checking INR results, titrating warfarin doses, and arranging follow-up appointments.
  • Initiate and manage patients on direct oral anticoagulants, ensuring safe and effective care.
  • Work in the nurse-led DVT service, providing patient assessment, examination, and initiating therapy.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and ward rounds to ensure effective care planning and coordination.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies.

Person Specification
  • Significant post-registration experience as a Band 5 RGN in a relevant specialty.
  • Ability to organise and manage day-to-day departmental activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to utilise research and guidelines in clinical practice.
