About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team at Imperial College London, specializing in Structural Biology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cellular tomography and a proven track record of research in protein-protein and protein-membrane complexes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct cutting-edge research in structural biology, focusing on cryo electron tomography-based studies of the membrane attack complex (MAC) within model membrane systems.
  • Design and execute workflows for structure determination of proteins or cellular systems, from sample preparation to acquisition and analysis of structural biology data.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of structural biologists and membrane biophysicists to tackle major questions in understanding host-pathogen interactions.
  • Develop and apply new concepts, and have a creative approach to problem-solving, to set and attain research objectives in a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • PhD (or equivalent) in structural biology, with experience in cellular tomography and a strong research track record in studying protein-protein and protein-membrane complexes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and succinctly for publication.
  • Ability to relate well with others, form positive relationships with a wide range of people, and work as part of a team, as well as independently.
