As a Costs Lawyer/Draftsperson/Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about the legal costs process and our litigation and Court of Protection work. Key Responsibilities
- Preparing schedules and bills of costs, replies to points of dispute, and other documents required during the costs process
- Negotiating with costs draftspersons and defendants regarding the settlement of costs
- Preparing and updating budgets of costs
- Liaising with lawyers and costs team members
- Advising on likely levels of recovery of costs
Requirements
- Some understanding of legal costs and comfort with figures
- Legal costs and billing experience of drafting schedules of costs or bills (advantageous for drafting and negotiation roles)
- Aptitude to provide support in the management of costs and billing process
