Teaching Assistant (SEN) - Early Years

We are seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team in Waltham Forest. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with children aged 3-5 who have a range of additional needs, including communication difficulties, developmental delays, and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based learning experiences tailored to the individual needs of children with SEN.
  • Assist in implementing personalized support plans and interventions to help children develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Collaborate with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and parents to ensure each child receives the right level of support.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children feel valued and supported.
  • Monitor and record children's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and SENCO.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with young children with special educational needs, preferably in an early years setting.
  • A patient and nurturing approach, with a strong ability to build relationships with children.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A Level 2/3 qualification in Childcare or Special Educational Needs is desirable but not essential.
