About the Role

We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join our team at a specialist school in Trowbridge. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons to support pupils in making good or outstanding progress.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Special Education and be able to prepare and deliver a progressive curriculum using a range of teaching styles and methodologies. You will also be able to effectively manage the behaviour of vulnerable children and young people.

As an English Teacher, you will be working with students who have complex learning needs, trauma, SEMH, and challenging behaviour. You will need to have previous experience of working with SEND students and be able to provide the highest quality of teaching possible.

Requirements
  • A QTS is not essential, but you must have GCSE English and Maths grade C or equivalent.
  • Evidence of successful and recent teaching responsibility of English.
  • Understanding of Special Education.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver a progressive curriculum using a range of teaching styles and methodologies.
  • Awareness of strategies to effectively manage the behaviour of the most vulnerable and needy children and young people.
  • Resilient under pressure.
  • A team player, who is able to establish rapport with students, staff, and parents and carers.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
