Senior 3rd Line Support Engineer

Applause IT is seeking a highly skilled Senior 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their team in the West Midlands. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering remote and on-site technical support to clients, with a strong focus on technical hands-on work and client interactions.

About the Role:

The Senior 3rd Line Support Engineer will be responsible for handling support tickets, performing routine IT system checks and maintenance, and executing project work such as hardware installations, infrastructure upgrades, and cloud transformation projects. Key duties include:

  1. Providing on-site technical support for client systems.
  2. Preparing and configuring IT equipment, including servers, switches, and routers.
  3. Managing and supporting Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, and Azure.
  4. Implementing and maintaining backup solutions and firewall configurations.
  5. Overseeing migrations to cloud infrastructure and maintaining networking hardware.
  6. Serving as an escalation point for complex technical issues and providing support for new project installations.
Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Intune, and Azure.
  2. Experience in server installation (Windows Server).
  3. Strong knowledge of networking, firewall management, and RMM systems.
  4. Demonstrable experience with infrastructure installation and hardware configuration.
  5. Capability to manage IT projects and provide pre-sales assistance.
