Job Title: Snowflake Engineer

Company: Damia Group

Location: London (Hybrid working arrangement)

Salary: £45-50k base salary plus 15% cash flex (guaranteed income and can be taken as cash or used to buy extra benefits) plus bonus

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Engineer to join our team at Damia Group. As a Snowflake Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing cloud solutions, focusing on data migration, modeling, and data product implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Hydration: Design and implement data hydration processes for Teradata to Data Lake (S3) and from Data Lake to Snowflake migration using AWS Services, Glue, DBT, and Snowflake.
  • Data Modeling: Develop data models in Snowflake to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Script Conversion: Convert Abinitio/BTEQ scripts to DBT or SnowSQL to improve data processing efficiency.
  • Metadata Management: Build an Enterprise Metadata Hub for registering metadata from Alation, Glue Catalog, DBT, and Snowflake.
  • Data Products: Design and implement data products and marts in Snowflake to support business intelligence and analytics.
  • Source Code Management: Manage source code and version control using Git, Jenkins, and cloud services.
  • Workflow Orchestration: Orchestrate workflows using Step Function and Airflow to ensure efficient data processing.
  • Performance Optimization: Fix defects, optimize performance, and document processes to ensure data quality and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Cloud Engineering Experience: Proven experience in cloud engineering and data migration.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of AWS, Snowflake, and DBT, as well as Teradata and SQL skills.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with version control (Git, Jenkins), Alation, Abinitio, Airflow, and Tableau.
