We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Specialist to join our dynamic Integration team at Penguin Books Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing a robust data migration framework and managing data migrations to support our business and project teams.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Integration Team to align data migration activities with overall integration strategies and objectives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data migration strategy to ensure seamless transitions.
- Create standardized packages to extract, transform, and load data from legacy systems, preferably using Azure Data Factory.
- Support future requirements for accessing legacy data.
- Manage and execute smaller data migrations for our Technology teams.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to additional migration resources to ensure project success.
- Document specifications, business processes, methodologies, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across Technology.
- Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of migrated data.
- Build a data migration asset register, validations, and reconciliation processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in data migration activities.
- Work closely with various functional, business leads, and testing teams.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including project managers and application owners, to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Proficient in ETL using SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, and Stored Procedures.
- Skilled in creating data validation tools, templates, and documentation.
- Proficient in ERP implementation, including at least two full life cycle implementations in a Data Analyst role.
- Experienced in legacy data migration.
- Proficient in SQL and SSIS.
- Knowledgeable in Data Governance principles with a strong background in Data Quality Assurance.
- Experienced with reporting tools such as Management Reports, Business Documents, and Power BI.
- Proficient with integration tools to move data, such as AIS and SAP BTP.
- A strong collaborator with the ability to work effectively with Architects, Development Leads, and Project Teams.
- An excellent verbal and written communicator, comfortable to problem-solve.
- Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
