About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Caval Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful delivery of a new build education project in North Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chair regular meetings to ensure project progress and address any challenges
  • Develop and manage project budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Carry out health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
  • Support and lead the project team to achieve project targets
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment to drive project success
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver the project
  • Assemble project teams and assign tasks to team members to ensure effective project delivery
  • Monitor progress of project team by holding regular reviews to identify areas for improvement
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process to ensure budget compliance
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project delivery
  • Ensure that all parties involved in the project adhere to contract terms and conditions
  • Make certain all employees under your control develop and progress within the business
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure construction standards are met
  • Planning and overall control of all site operations to ensure that the project targets are achieved
  • Impose strict snagging, handover, and aftercare measures to achieve zero defects upon completion
  • Monitor and control of sub-contractors on site and developing subcontractor relationships to ensure the successful delivery of the project
  • Organising and overseeing the site team and all construction procedures to ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Working closely with and reporting to a Regional Director to provide regular updates on project status, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions
  • Work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and client representatives to establish clear communication channels and foster collaboration
Requirements
  • Proven history of successfully delivering projects in a similar position with build values in excess of £10m+
  • Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working with tier 1 and tier 2 leading construction contractors
  • Experience working on education projects is advantageous but not essential
  • Additional skills in IT, quality and risk management, effective time management, negotiation, leadership, and communication
