Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and ambitious Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our team as a Lead. As an AMHP Lead, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to our team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health services to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide routine and urgent Mental Health Act assessments (MHA) under part 2 of the MHA
  • Lead on day-to-day operational activities of the AMHP service, including triage support and management of the team
  • Support the AMHP Team Manager to ensure the service delivers on its objectives
  • Provide training, advice, and consultation to multidisciplinary colleagues on the use of mental health law and least restrictive options
  • Ensure the timely delivery of an appropriate, safe, effective, and responsive AMHP Service that is caring and maximizes people's statutory rights
  • Manage the operational management and leadership of the team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Service
  • Ensure all key professional/quality standards and performance indicators for the AMHP Service are met in a timely manner
  • Provide professional supervision for other AMHPs and manage performance to ensure quality standards are maintained

Requirements:

  • Enhanced level of knowledge and expertise in relation to the use of the MHA (1983, as amended 2007)
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of AMHPs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities
