About the Role

We are seeking a Specialist Independent Sexual Violence Advocate to join our Advocacy team at Respond. As a key member of our team, you will provide pro-active emotional, practical, and advocacy support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging with the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support to clients
  • Work in partnership with other London sexual violence support services
  • Build trusting relationships with clients and support them to heal following sexual abuse
  • Develop coping capacity and empower clients to make informed decisions
Requirements
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and autistic people
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and its application in a support setting
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and compassionate way
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
