NHS Highland is seeking to recruit two Trauma & Orthopaedic Consultants to join the department in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

The department comprises 19 Consultants, and the two advertised posts have become available due to retirement of the previous post holders. The provision of the service to a large geographical area requires a particularly flexible and imaginative approach by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated Consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in an on-call rota for trauma
  • Provide elective services in primary lower limb arthroplasty
  • Subspecialty in Soft tissue knee and/or Knee revision surgery is favourable

About the Department:

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and postgraduate medical degree courses. The hospital is well-equipped with modern facilities, including the National Treatment Centre Highland, which caters for a large proportion of primary lower limb arthroplasty and other orthopaedic elective services.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be on the Specialist Register or within six months of the anticipated award of a CCT at the time of interview for the post
