Job Title: Primary School Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full-time and part-time

Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistants to join our team at a reputable Primary School in Newcastle. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with challenging behavior and special educational needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with challenging behavior and SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Manage challenging behavior positively, proactively, and consistently.
  • Build positive relationships with Class Teachers to discuss and implement strategies and learning activities.
  • Prepare resources for lessons.
  • Supervise pupils during break times and lunch times as required.
  • Engage actively with pupils, forming a positive rapport and supporting their learning needs.

Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS check (ideally on the Update Service, but we can process a new one if needed).
  • A recognised Childcare-based qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
  • Experience supporting students in classrooms is advantageous but not essential.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential.
