Position Overview

We invite applications for the role of Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) within our esteemed healthcare organization. The successful candidate will join our growing team dedicated to providing exceptional Anaesthetics and Critical Care services.

This position is situated within a modern acute hospital that offers a comprehensive range of secondary care services, including emergency care, oncology, maternity, and pediatric services.

Our facility is recognized as a Trauma and Cancer Unit and has recently transitioned to a fully electronic health record and prescribing system, enhancing our operational efficiency. There are ample opportunities for teaching and mentoring medical students and trainees from various educational institutions.

Initially, this role is offered on a fixed-term basis, with the potential for a permanent contract upon successful performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing anaesthesia care for elective and emergency surgical procedures.
  • Conducting pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups.
  • Administering obstetric anaesthesia and pain relief.
  • Performing anaesthetic duties in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU).
  • Addressing acute pain management issues on the wards.
  • Facilitating emergency patient transfers as required.
