HGV Mechanic Trainee

UPS is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team. As an Apprentice HGV Mechanic, you will develop your skills to help us deliver what matters by keeping our vehicles on the road. Our diverse fleet offers opportunities to expand your mechanical skills, including repairing and maintaining light vans, tractor and trailer units, and alternative fuel vehicles. If you're a car mechanic, we'll provide training to help you learn how to repair HGVs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work from 06:00 to 14:30 and 14:00 to 22:30 alternate shifts Monday to Friday
* Keep our iconic vehicles on the road by expertly handling a variety of repairs and maintenance on our large fleet
* Carry out regular maintenance inspections, complete online records, and control stock
* Work with your fellow mechanics to achieve maintenance targets quickly, safely, and reliably
What You'll Get:
* A competitive basic salary of £16,598, increasing yearly to £31,117 on completion of apprenticeship
* Additional shift premium (£2.00 per hour between 8pm-6am) and overtime at time and a half
* 4-year apprenticeship with college modules and on-the-job training and experience, resulting in full HGV mechanic qualification

What You Need:
* Initiative, planning skills, and a flexible, enthusiastic approach
* Full UK driving license preferred
* A C1, 7.5-tonne license would be a bonus but isn't essential
