Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine upkeep and minor repair tasks across the healthcare facility as assigned. This role involves collaboration with qualified personnel to ensure the smooth operation of maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections, tests, repairs, and installations on hospital properties, equipment, and infrastructure as directed.
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and legibly, adhering to established procedures.
- Identify and report faults discovered during routine checks or throughout daily operations.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance checks and document findings in accordance with organizational policies.
- Determine necessary parts and equipment for designated tasks and utilize the inventory management system to procure items as per financial guidelines.
- Investigate technical issues as instructed and recommend permanent solutions to ensure reliability and compliance with regulations.
- Provide assistance to other maintenance staff with technical tasks and problem-solving as needed.
- Follow established procedures for work permits when applicable.
- Record time spent and notes on all tasks using the handheld computerized maintenance management system, along with any other required software.
