Housing Solutions Specialist

Middlesbrough Council is seeking a skilled professional to fill a temporary position as an Accommodation and Housing Officer. This role is a critical part of our team, responsible for assessing the needs of service users and formulating personal housing plans to prevent homelessness and provide comprehensive support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing Service User Needs: Conduct thorough assessments of service users' needs, taking into account their individual circumstances and requirements.
- Formulating Personal Housing Plans: Develop and implement personalized housing plans to address the needs of service users, ensuring they have access to suitable accommodation and support.
- Providing Comprehensive Support: Offer guidance, advice, and support to service users, landlords, and other stakeholders to prevent homelessness and facilitate the sourcing of alternative accommodation.
- Collaborating with Partners: Work closely with multi-agency partners, including safe accommodation services, to ensure seamless support and referrals.
- Managing Caseload: Effectively manage a caseload, prioritizing tasks and responding to changing service demands while maintaining a high level of communication with service users and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Good standard of education to a Level 2 or equivalent relevant qualification, educated to degree level or equivalent, and vocational qualification in relation to the area of business.
- Experience: Proven experience of working with complex service users in a multi-agency setting, ability to work collaboratively with partners, and knowledge of the legislative, guidance, and policy framework for Homelessness.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work creatively to meet individual needs, and experience of using information and case load management systems.
