About the Role:

Kent is seeking a Senior Subsea & Pipeline Engineer to enhance our Engineering & Consulting division. You will engage in a range of stimulating projects, collaborating with our expert Subsea and Pipeline Engineering team to deliver specialized engineering support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Your contributions will span our Engineering and Consultancy Services sectors (Oil and Gas, Offshore Wind, and Low Carbon), with primary duties including:
  • Developing concepts and conducting feasibility studies for complex subsea projects in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Designing and analyzing pipelines for CO2 and H2 in the Low Carbon sector.
  • Supporting junior engineers or independently executing tasks in FEED studies, including pipeline mechanical design, routing, stress analysis, and producing specifications.
  • Conducting mechanical design and assessment for subsea cable routing in Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas.
  • Building and nurturing client relationships and contributing to successful proposals.
Additional responsibilities may involve:
  • Leading studies on integrity management, life extension, and decommissioning.
  • Applying analytical or non-linear FE methods to address complex subsea challenges.
  • Developing criteria and routing maps for onshore pipelines, considering environmental and legal factors.
  • Participating in innovation initiatives to enhance our assessment tools.
Furthermore, you may be assigned other relevant tasks as directed by management, ensuring flexibility in meeting the organization's evolving needs while considering your professional growth.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • An engineering degree (honours or equivalent) in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • Chartered status is preferred.
Communication Skills:
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
Core Competencies:
  • A solid understanding of subsea and pipeline engineering fundamentals, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards. Knowledge of global buckling and HPHT issues is advantageous.
  • Experience in concept and feasibility design studies for subsea projects; familiarity with FEED processes.
  • Knowledge of integrity management for subsea pipelines is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in pipeline analysis to support design and operations; expertise in finite element methods is a plus.
  • Experience in designing and assessing subsea cables is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with CO2 and H2 pipeline design and analysis is beneficial.
  • Proven track record of delivering studies and producing clear, concise reports within time and budget constraints.
  • A proactive approach to challenging existing practices and enhancing technical methodologies.
  • A self-motivated, reliable, and mature work ethic.
