Position Overview
As a Functional Assessor, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate individuals and the impact of their disabilities or health conditions on their professional lives.
Utilizing your clinical knowledge, you will attentively gather each individual's medical history before conducting a physical assessment.
Subsequently, you will generate clear and precise reports for the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) to assist in determining each individual's eligibility for benefits.
This role involves engaging with individuals both in person and through telephone or video consultations. Regardless of the mode of communication, you will approach each interaction with sensitivity, compassion, and the ability to ask pertinent questions while adhering to best practice standards.
Rest assured, you will have ample time to conduct thorough assessments and provide each individual with your full attention.
While you will operate independently, you will be part of a broader multi-disciplinary team, with support readily available.
Upon application, one of our specialized SJB Medical recruiters will guide you through the virtual application process. Please note that a commitment to work at least three days per week is required for the part-time role.
Candidate Profile
An NMC Level 1 Registered Nurse with a minimum of 12 months of diverse clinical post-registration experience within the last 5 years.
Experience working with adults in various clinical settings.
NMC-registered with evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt and respond to a dynamic environment.
Proficient IT skills and experience with various software applications.
Self-aware and focused on professional growth.
Honest and capable of maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
Motivated to enhance quality customer service, demonstrating empathy, respect, and sensitivity in assessment delivery.
Able to work independently to meet deadlines and standards.
Prepared to be a reliable and efficient team member, willing to support the multi-disciplinary team.
