About the Role

As an Area Manager with Amazon UK Services Ltd., you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics network. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of professionals in maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality service for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a Team of Professionals: You will be responsible for managing a team of operations professionals, providing guidance, and ensuring they have the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Drive Safety and Quality Initiatives: You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a culture of safety and quality within your team, ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with Amazon's safety and quality standards.
  • Optimize Operations: You will analyze and implement process improvements to optimize productivity, reduce costs, and improve the overall quality of service for our customers.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: You will work closely with other teams, including supply chain, business intelligence, and programme management, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and Implement Process Improvements: You will identify areas for improvement and develop and implement process improvements to drive productivity and efficiency.
A Day in the Life

As an Area Manager, you will work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, ensuring that it is as productive as possible. Your main focus will be to own and drive a culture of safety and uphold quality and shift performance standards. You will also oversee process improvements within your area and drive implementation.

About the Team

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) is a critical part of our logistics network, responsible for managing the delivery of heavy items, including furniture and large home appliances. Our team is dedicated to providing an exceptional customer experience, with a focus on safety, productivity, and innovation.

Requirements
  • Education: A degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in people management, with a proven track record of leading teams and driving process improvements.
  • Communication Skills: Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language.
  • Technical Skills: Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques, as well as proficiency in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
