About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Acute Medicine, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement effective care pathways and protocols to improve patient flow and reduce length of stay.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental and trust-wide strategies to improve patient safety and quality of care.
  • Participate in education and training programs to support the development of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

Person Specification

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • Entry on the GMC specialist register for General Internal Medicine and specialty interest via CCT, CESR, or European Community rights
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development, including CME
