About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to our Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Short Stay ward, and Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC).
  • Develop and implement effective clinical care pathways to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental and trust-wide policies and procedures.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities to support the development of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of Acute Medicine.
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Entry on the GMC specialist register for General Internal Medicine and specialty interest via CCT, CESR, or European Community rights.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development, including CME.
