Job Title: Assistant Director, Housing Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director to join our Investigation and Enforcement team at the Regulator of Social Housing. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex and high-profile cases where there is a likelihood of a failure and potential serious issues with the Regulatory Standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team to oversee the management of casework where there are serious failures of the Regulatory Standards and the cases that pose the biggest risk to achieving the regulator's priorities.
  • Act as a subject specialist in one of the following areas: finance/distressed situations or governance and/or housing services.
  • Contribute to the development of policy responses for emerging risks and the team's preparedness for major failures.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver effective and proportionate strategies to resolve the most serious and complex cases of underperformance in Registered Providers.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing complex and high-profile cases.
  • Strong knowledge of the Regulatory Standards and the ability to apply them in a practical context.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
