Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. This role is integral to providing exceptional care and support to patients within our Breast Imaging Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Radiologists and Mammographers in delivering personalized care to patients.
- Ensure effective communication with patients and their families, maintaining respect, dignity, and privacy at all times.
- Prepare ultrasound rooms and necessary equipment for interventional breast procedures, including biopsies and aspirations.
- Act as a chaperone and provide support to patients during procedures, assisting healthcare professionals as needed.
- Deliver post-procedural care while upholding patient privacy and dignity.
- Accurately prepare documentation and labels for specimens, ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
- Perform housekeeping duties in accordance with hospital policies to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Participate in the management of stock levels and cleanliness within the Imaging Department.
- Utilize Radiology Information Systems (CRIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for patient attendance checks and clinical detail input.
