About the Role

Protocol Education is seeking a Behavioural Specialist Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a special school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs to promote positive behavior and engagement in education.
  • Build rapport with students and create positive relationships to influence their behavior.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement behavior plans.
  • Assist with de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behavior and maintain a safe learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Outgoing and confident individual with the ability to deal with behavioral difficulties.
  • Desirable qualifications include Team Teach and experience in working with young people with SEMH needs.
