Community Librarian

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Library Associate in the Circulation Department at the Newbury Town Library. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional service to patrons, assist with borrowers' services, and contribute to the overall success of our library.

• Provide excellent customer service to patrons, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with borrowers' services, including checking out and returning materials, answering research questions, and providing general library information.
• Work collaboratively with library staff to maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment, promoting literacy and lifelong learning.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of library policies, procedures, and services, ensuring compliance with library standards and regulations.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and software, applying this knowledge to improve library services and operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in common office computer applications, including Microsoft Office and library software.
• One year of experience in a public library setting, preferably in a circulation or reference role.
