About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive north Birmingham Primary school. The school is committed to providing high-quality education to all students and takes pride in offering a supportive and enriching learning environment for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with SEND, including those with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities, in a Year 4 class.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other tailored learning strategies.
  • Help to create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt resources and materials to meet the needs of individual students.
Requirements
  • A passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of various learning difficulties and disabilities, and how to support students effectively.
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, is preferred but not essential.
