Position Overview:

Service Care Solutions is seeking a dedicated Sustainability Consultant to enhance our team. This role is pivotal in promoting sustainable practices and achieving environmental goals.

Role Purpose:

The primary focus of this position is to conduct comprehensive Embodied and Whole Life Carbon assessments across various projects. The consultant will play a key role in ensuring our projects align with sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide substantiation for BREEAM Mat 01 credits alongside complete WLCA.
  • Facilitate the ongoing development and integration of WLCA within the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for carbon emission reductions in projects and assist in their implementation.
  • Support the organization in meeting RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge commitments.
  • Drive initiatives for the procurement and delivery of net-zero carbon projects.
  • Promote passive design and fabric-first methodologies.
  • Conduct sustainable design evaluations at critical project milestones.
  • Advise on material specifications based on responsible procurement, embodied carbon considerations, waste minimization, and Circular Economy principles.
  • Contribute to the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program in accordance with RIBA curriculum standards.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in producing Embodied and Whole Life Carbon analyses and reports in line with RICS WLCA Methodology, utilizing tools such as OneClick LCA.
  • Familiarity with current WLCA standards and methodologies.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a sustainability-focused role within a design firm or consultancy.
  • A Master’s degree in environmental design or a related field is preferred.
  • Architectural training is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of design processes and RIBA work stages.
  • Knowledge of BREEAM and Passivhaus design principles.
  • Familiarity with thermal modeling and environmental analysis software is beneficial.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
